two dogs
Becka and Simba weren't just the inspiration for Ghost & Hound, they're the reason it exists.
One Dog Changed Everything
Becka wasn't supposed to start a business.
She was simply our silver Weimaraner, our baby girl, our original “Ghost” who would eventually give Ghost & Hound half its name.
Like so many new dog owners, we started by feeding the food we'd been recommended by the breeder. But it soon became clear that something wasn't working for Becka. Her coat became dull and started to fall out, she became increasingly fussy with food, and we eventually discovered she had sensitivities, including a chicken allergy.
It made us start questioning what was actually going into her bowl.
And that's where our raw journey began.
Our search for something that worked for Becka introduced us to raw feeding and a much simpler way of looking at her food: understanding the ingredients, knowing the proteins we were feeding and making choices around the dog in front of us.
Switching Becka to raw made a real difference for her, and it completely changed the way we thought about feeding. So, when Simba, our Rhodesian Ridgeback - our "Hound" - joined our family, he was raw-fed from day one.
The beginning of Ghost & Hound
But somewhere along the way, our raw journey became about more than what was going into our own dogs’ bowls.
We realised just how complicated feeding a dog well can feel. There’s an overwhelming amount of information, plenty of conflicting opinions and an ever-growing choice of products. We knew what it felt like to start out simply wanting to make a good choice for your dog and not always knowing where to begin.
That experience ultimately became the idea behind Ghost & Hound.
We wanted to create the kind of place we’d have valued when we started. A carefully chosen collection of raw food, natural treats and everyday essentials from brands we trust, alongside clear information and honest, down-to-earth guidance.
And while raw will always be an important part of our story, we don’t believe there’s one answer for every dog.
No food shaming. No pretending there’s one right way. Just carefully chosen products and the confidence to make better-informed choices for the dog in front of you.
What started with Becka became a way of feeding our whole pack. Eventually, it became Ghost & Hound.
Meet the real bosses.
The dog who started it all. Becka is our original Ghost and the boss of the operation - when she's not flying over jumps and weaving her way around an agility course at full speed.
Becka's younger brother. We started our big lad on a raw diet from day one. Simba has never known anything else.
The latest addition to the pack. Our clever mummy's boy with a serious love for PSA!
Keeper of the spreadsheets, organiser of the chaos and the one who keeps everything on track and everyone in check. Dogs included. Husband occasionally.
Usually found behind the camera, booking the next dog event or keeping on top of the socials. If it happened at Ghost & Hound, there’s a good chance he photographed it.
The senior members of the pack and self-appointed Board of Directors. Teddi handles staff affection, JJ handles corporate communications, both are responsible for collecting the cheese tax.
We’re still a small, family-run operation. We deliver locally around Milton Keynes ourselves, usually with one of the dogs riding shotgun. We ship nationwide too, but the heart of Ghost & Hound will always be personal, knowing the dogs we feed by name and treating your pack like our own.
